Course Description

Decision making is critical for every successful leader. In this course, you will be introduced to various tools and techniques used for problem solving and decision making.

Some of the topics to be discussed in this course include decision making framework, mapping techniques, problems identification tools (such as root cause analysis and theory of constraints), and analytical tools (such as decision tree analysis and linear programming). Being armed with these tools and techniques, you will be able to analyze a problem and determine the best course of action to resolve it. The course will also provide you with hands-on experience in using Solver (Excel Add Ins) in making more effective decisions.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand various tools and techniques used in problem identification and decision making (such as mind mapping, process mapping, force field analysis and theory of constraints, to name a few).
  • Understand analytical tools used in decision making (such as decision tree and linear programming).
  • Gain hands-on experience using Solver to make more effective decisions.
