CLL0004 - Certificate in Women’s Leadership
Course Description
This 14-week course is designed for professionals who wish to advance women in the workplace and work toward gender equity. The course exposes you to research and studies regarding women in the workplace, as well as current readings and materials on the subject. Additionally, the course offers practical skills for overcoming common barriers facing women in the workplace.
What You’ll Learn:
- Gain tools and skills to navigate the unique dilemmas that working women face, such as “double-binds” and “unconscious bias.”
- Understand your individual, unique leadership identity and how it surfaces in teams.
- Enhance your emotional intelligence for greater effectiveness in leadership roles.
- Develop skills to communicate and negotiate authentically and confidently in various situations.
- Identify practices and attitudes that contribute to healthy, fulfilling work-life integration.
Format:
The course offers a fully virtual and a hybrid option each session.
- Fully Virtual: Live interactive Zoom classes held each Tuesday
- Hybrid: Combination of online learning and in-person classes, including two, 2-day immersions at Gonzaga University
Requirements:
- 5 years of any kind of work experience.
- No degree required.
- No application required.
- Students admitted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Credits
- Grading is on a Pass/Fail basis.
- Upon completion, students receive a Certificate from Gonzaga University and 8 Continuing Education credits on a Gonzaga University transcript.
- Students who successfully complete a School of Leadership Studies certificate program have the option of applying a maximum of 3 credits towards completion of a Masters in Organizational Leadership or Masters in Communication and Leadership at Gonzaga, contingent upon admission and within 5 years of certificate completion.
- Students are responsible for confirming whether this course counts towards their organization's tuition reimbursement program (if applicable) or towards professional certification requirements.
